Schedule tutoring sessions, which can be days, evenings or weekends.  Sessions are conducted via live one-on-one video (Joinme with screen sharing or Webex with screen sharing or Skype with screen sharing), in-person or by phone. During the consultation, you should indicate the topics to be covered during the tutoring sessions as well as the name of the materials you are currently using. For most exams, prices range from $65 to $150 per hour.

A Series 7 Tutor Can Help You With Math Oriented Concepts BUT

If you are struggling with math oriented concepts on the Series 7 Exam, a series 7 tutor can help you work through it. However, the series 7 exam is far from a math test. None of the math involves complicated calculations.  For example, the break even price for owning a stock and buying a put is simply stock price + premium.  


Buy 100 shares of XYZ at 40
Buy 1 Put XYZ Dec ember 39 @5

The break even price is 45.

It is much more important to understand why the break even price is 45, than to know the math of it.  A series 7 tutor can help you understand the concepts behind the math.   40+5 is a simple math calculation but because it is mathematical, some people get intimidated by it.  The reason the break even price is 45 is because, the investor has to make back the money spent on the premium.  You are making back the money back on the stock, NOT the option.  

I am the primary series 7 tutor for the series 7 exam but I have other series 7 tutors who can help you.  The tutors who work for me have lots of experience and I prefer to hire series 7 tutors who work for major prep providers like Kaplan or STC or those who have worked for these companies in the past.

Securities Industry Essentials Exam (The SIE Exam)

The Securities Industry Essentials Exam will be launched in October of this year.  In order to be registered with the series 6 or series 7 exams, one would also need to pass the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam.  

Who benefits from this new FINRA exam structure?

Broker Dealers...  The SIE will likely be used as a screening tool for hiring potential financial advisors.  I would think that many broker dealers will now only hire people who have passed the SIE.  Technically, one could take the SIE after taking the series 7 exam. By the way, you do not have to be sponsored to take the SIE, which means that many test takers will take the exam without being affiliated with a broker dealer.  Overall, the SIE should save the broker dealers time and money.  

Who is disadvantaged by the new exam structure?

Potential Financial Advisors...Now, FAs have to study for and take two exams, instead of one.  Also, they may have to pay out of their own pocket to take the SIE.

Series 7 Tutoring - Series 7 Students Must Work Hard!

In order to pass the Series 7 exam,  you must read the Series 7 book and test lots of series 7 exams.  A Series 7 Tutor can help you if you willing to work at it. It is not a good strategy to rely on tips and tricks.  There is high correlation between working hard and passing an exam

Series 7 Tutoring and Bonds

A Series 7 Tutor can help you understand how to answer bond questions.  Most series 7 test takers understand that long term bonds are more volatile than short term bonds.  Unfortunately, many series 7 test takers do not understand that lower coupon bonds are more volatile than higher coupon bonds.  In our series 7 tutoring sessions, our series 7 tutors can can help you with this concept.
